FEATHERSTON
CONSTABLE MCLEOD FAREWELLED AT COURT. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the Magistrate’s Court held in Featherston yesterday, Mr 'H. P. Lawry, presiding, several members of the law were present to farewell Constable McLeod. Amongst those present were: Messrs J. W. Card, the oldest practitioner in the Wairarapa, H. Lawson, R. McKenzie, and H. Biss. Miniature Rifles. The following scores were recorded on the Featherston Miniature Rifle Club’s range:—N. Castle, 93; Mrs Wilson, 93; I. Feast, 97; L. Rasmussen. 97; E. O’Neale, 94; J. H. Buck, 95; A. Hodder, 94. Personal. Leading Aircraftman P. Doyle is spending his leave in Featherston. Mrs Stewart, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs Axsop, returned to her home in Levin today. Red Cross Competition. The winner of the cushion in the Red Cross competition is H. Cundy. Euchre Tourney. There was a good attendance at the weekly euchre tourney held in the Anzac card room on Tuesday night by the Fire Brigade. The prizewinners were: Mrs Wilson, 1; Miss K. Ruane, 2. Mr Lett, 1; Mr Chips, 2.
