MR FRASER IN LONDON

AN EXTENDED CONFERENCE .WITH MR CHURCHILL MANSION HOUSE LUNCHEON. TRIBUTE TO SPIRIT OF LONDON. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.35 a.m.) LONDON. July 2. The New Zealand Prime Minister, Mr P. Fraser, conferred at length with Mr Winston Churchill this morning. The Lord Mayor entertained Mr Fraser at a luncheon at the Mansion House, at which shipping, financial, commercial and industrial leaders were present. The Lord Mayor spoke admiringly of the war effort, of New Zealanders. Mr Fraser paid a tribute to the spirit of London, which was not only the centre of the Commonwealth's trade, but also of its culture. Mr Fraser said he hoped that when the Guildhall was restored, materials from all parts of the Empire would be employed. He offered, on behalf of New Zealand, quantities of various types of timber. Mr Fraser said he was sure that other Dominions would be equally pleased to supply something for the rebuilding of the shrine of the British people and people of British descent.
