MAORI LOYALTY

MESSAGE TO THE KING. PRESENTED BY MR FRASER. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, July 1. The New Zealand Prime Minister (Mr P. Fraser) has presented to the King a message decided upon at a recent meeting of representatives of the Native race. The message, which was received by Mr Fraser on June 27 from Mr P. K. Paikea, Member for Northern Maori, reads: —

"This meeting of chiefs and elders of the united tribes of the Maori people, extends to their Majesties filial felicitations and reiterates complete and unswerving loyalty to the Crown, particularly during the present days of aggression. The Maoris stand foursquare behind their Majesties until ruthless tyranny has been wiped out and victory completely won, so that peace and goodwill may reign again among the peoples of the British Commonwealth of Nations.”
