Card Evening.

■ The Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Y.M.C.A. is holding a 500 card evening tomorrow night in the lounge room. These card parlies are held fortnightly and are thoroughly enjoyed by all who attend. The Auxiliary would be pleased to see all card players attend and thus help it in its worthy objective. A home-made supper will be provided and prizes will be given.

Benefit Dance. A U.A.O.D. benefit dance will be held in the Orange Hall on Saturday night. These dances have proved most successful and letters received recently from members of the lodge overseas indicate their sincere appreciation of the comforts which the lodge has sent tc them from the profits derived from the dances. It is hoped that members and others will again support the benefit dance on Saturday night. Indoor Basketball.

At a committee meeting of the Wairarapa Interhouse Association held last night it was decided that an indoor basketball tournament be held in the Municipal Hall on Saturday, July 19. The tournament will be open to all Masterton teams. A quadrangular tournament between teams representing Palmerston North, Wellington, Hutt Valley and Masterton will-be held on July 26.
