DAIRY COWS AND HEIFERS
SELL WELL.
The Associated Auctioneers report on the Pahiatua sale as follows: —A moderate yarding of sheep was offered to a fair attendance cf the public, and were disposed of at auction at prices satisfactory to vendors. Dairy cows and heifers showing quality near profit sold well at late rates, later calvers, however, being neglected. Pigs were not in keen demand, but a total clearance was effected at reduced rates. Quotations: Fat wethers, 255, 24s 9d, 245; vz. hoggets, 18s; b.f. lambs, 18s to 12s; small w. hoggets 15s. Dairy cattle: G.S. cows (close to profit), £9 to £10; heifers, £lO to £7 12s 6d; weaner Jersey heifers, £4 10s, £4, to £3 7s 6d to £2 19s; F.A. steers, £7 12s 6d. Pigs: Sows and litters, £2 3s 7d to £2 10s; stores, 15s; slips, 10s to 7s 6d; weaner pigs, ss. Sundries: Galvanised iron, 12s. 10s Bd to 9s 6d.
