Prices of fruit and vegetables in the Wellington markets are quoted as follows: —
Grapes: 3s 2d to 3s 6d a lb. Passionfruit, 15s to 34s a half case. Grapefruit, N.Z., 5s to 10s a bushel case. Lemons, Meyer, 7s to 10s a half case. Chinese gooseberries, 9s to 17s a half case. Tree tomatoes, 6s to 11s a half case.
Tomatoes: Hothouse, Is to Is 6d a lb Beans, hothouse, Is 3d to 2s a lb. Pumpkins, 3s 6d to 9s a sack.
Potatoes: 10s to 14s Gd a cwt. Onions, 9s to 13s a cental bag. Kumeras, 6s to 8s a sugar bag.
Sprouts: 18s to 23s Gd a case. Cabbage, 5s to 10s 9d a sack. Cauliflowers, Ils to 23s 6d a sack. Lettuce, 2s to 10s a case. Spinach, 8s to 21s 6d a case. Silver beet, 2s to 4s a case. Marrows: 2s to 3s a case. Leeks, 9s to 13s 3d a case. Parsnips, 8s to 12s 9d a case. Swedes, 2s to 3s 6d a case. Beetroot, 3s to 5s a case. Carrots, 4s to 9s 3d a case. Celery, local, 2s 6d to 9s a case. Rhubarb. 10s to 22s a dozen bunches.
