On Saturday afternoon the members of the Featherston County Office staff met to farewell Mi- John Pike, who, after ten years’ service, is severing his connection with the County Council in order to take up a position in a commercial house in Wellington. Mr Pike was the recipient of a gift, and received the good wishes of those present for his future success.

Miss F. I. Collier, who has for the past ten years been infant mistress at the Martinborough School, and is vacating that position, to take up duty at the Featherston School, was the guest at a series of farewell functions during the past week. On Tuesday the staff of the school entertained her at a social gathering where she was the recipient of a parting' gift, and on Wednesday the committee made her a presentation of a crystal vase. On Thursday the ladies of the Home and School Association entertained Miss Collier at a farewell tea party.
