MINIATURE RIFLES

CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a fair attendance of members of the Miniature Rifle Club at the South Featherston hall on Saturday. Splendid shooting - throughout the day made it necessary for several competitors to shoot off for trophies. C. M. Eain was successful in the shoot-off for the men’s championship. The following are the winners of the various trophies: Men's Championship, C. M. Bain: President's Cup, A. Yule; Hector Donald Cup, A. Yule; Hodder Cup, H. K. Eurt. Boys’ Championship, C. Rasmussen; Hodder Cup, C. Rasmussen. Ladies’ Championship, Miss J. Eurt; Allan Donald Cup, Miss J. Burt. The following scores were registered: Men, C. M. Bain. 100, 99, 100; H. Fenwick, 97. 99, 98; M. Hodder 99, 99, 98; R. Fenwick 96. 95, 99; R. Yule. 100, 100, 99; A. Yule. 97, 99, 99; H. R. Burt, 100, 98, 97; P. Gain 98, 90, 92; R. Jepson 96, 98, 95; D. War Service Committee.

The members of the War Service Committee held their fortnightly euchre party and dance on Thursday evening - in the South Featherston Hall. The prize winners were: Ladies, Mrs Anderson 1, Mrs H. R. Eurt 2. Men, Mr Perry and Mrs Wilson equal 1. Both donated their prize to the committee.

The Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Mr L. Mclntosh and Miss Cross, and Mr J. Mclntosh and Miss E. Eurt. The music was supplied by Udy's orchestra. Mr L. Mclntosh played an extra. Mr H. Graham was M.C.

Personal Items.

Miss N. Tocker, of South Featherston, spent the weekend at Wanganui.

Mr and Mrs Thorne have returned to South Featherston after having spent a holiday in Taranaki.
