GOLF CLUB • COMPETITION RESULTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The first two rounds for the Balfour Memorial Shield and Challenge Cup were played during the weekend. In the second round the greens were badly cut up and play became very difficult. The holder of the Balfour Memorial Shield, B. Kiernan, played excellent golf and leads the field. Evans, of Battersea, have left on a holiday visit to Wellington.

Mr and Mrs R. Eagar and family, who have resided at Papawai for some years, have left to live at Pahautanui. Mr Eagar was a member of the local Returned Soldiers’ Association, and was commander of the Mounted Rifle Section of the Greytown Home Guard. Golf.

Golfer members of the South Wairarapa Working Men’s Club will visit Palmerston North at the weekend to compete for a trophy donated for competition among chartered clubs.
