COURSING
NORTH ISLAND CUP.
On Thursday next the big coursing event of the North Island, under the auspices of the North Island Greyhound Association and the immediate control of the Wairarapa Coursing Club, Inc., will commence at Akura. Nominations are coming to hand in a manner that augurs well for a classical contest for a blue ribbon of the coursing world. Nominations close tonight at 7.30 with the secretary, bullate nominations will be received up to 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday at a late entry fee. The draw will take place in the A. and P. Rooms, Perry Street, on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Additional improvements carried out at the grounds on Saturday afternoon will facilitate the running of the meeting. An extensive covered in enclosure that will prove beneficial to owners and spectators has been erected. The hares . are expected to run strongly and to test out the dogs to their utmost. Members of the committee are reminded of the meeting in the secretary’s rooms tonight at 7.30 to make final arrangements.
