SENIOR REP. MATCH WAIRARAPA BEAT AIR FORCE. LADIES’ GAMES POSTPONED ON SATURDAY. There were only junior men’s games played in the Wairarapa on Saturday, as the senior men visited Wellington to play the Air Force team. The ladies’ games were postponed on account of the bad weather.

RESULTS AT A GLANCE Senior Men. Wairarapa 5, Air Force 1. Junior Men. Dalefield 7, Wairarapa College 4. Wesley 2, Scouts 1. REPRESENTATIVE GAME AIR FORCE DEFEATED. SPLENDID WIN FOR WAIRARAPA. The return match between the Rongotai Air Force and Wairarapa teams was played at Karori on Saturday under adverse weather conditions. Nevertheless, the game was fast and interesting. Wairarapa attacked from the bully-off, and within two minutes of the start Faulknor scored. Fairly even play followed for a spell, both goalies making saves. The Wairarapa forwards broke through, and Jackson added to the score after 20 minutes’ play. The Air Force attacked, and obstruction gave them a penalty corner, but the shot at goal missed. Two jnore penalty corners followed, but were cleared. Wairarapa were attacking at the end of the spell, the score being: Wairarapa 2, Air Force 0. On resuming, Wairarapa attacked, and Faulknor missed an easy chance. Continuing the attack, Faulknor again scored. Still attacking, Filer had a shot which went high over the top of the net. Another shot by Filer was well saved by the Air Force goalie. Hooper then scored, making Wairarapa 4 goals up. Air Force attacked, but the defence kept them out. Several attempts to penetrate the defence were made by the Air Force, but lack of understanding and infringements spoiled their chances. From an attack by Wairarapa, Harp, the Air Force full-back, had to defend a penalty bully, and was successful. From a good centre Jackson had a shot, but missed. The Air Force attacked, and Cochrane goaled, Ward having no chance with a high shot. A few minutes before thfe end of play Worsfold made a good solo run to score. The game ended —Wairarapa 5, Air Force 1. Messrs Purvis (Wellington) and Moor (Wairarapa) were the umpires. The Wairarapa team and supporters were very hospitably entertained by the Air Force at the Aerodrome after the match. The tea, indoor games and sing-song were much appreciated by the visitors.
