HIT BY BOMB
BRITISH EMBASSY BUILDING AT CHUNGKING. COUNSELLOR AND OTHERS INJURED. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright, (Received This Day. 11.35 a.m.) CHUNGKING. June 29. The Japanese scored a direct hit oh a house inhabited by Sir Arthur Blackburn, Counsellor to the British Embassy, injuring Sir A. Blackburn, the Embassy Secretary, Mr Allen and his wife, also the Ambassador’s secretary. Mr Burgoyne. Three of the main Embassy buildings were damaged.
