SOME IMPORTANT CHANGES LORD BEAVERBROOK MINISTER OF SUPPLY. DEFENCE COMMITTEE REORGANISATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day. 11.40 a.m.) LORD, June 29. Lord Beaverbrook has been appointed Minister of Supply, and Sir Andrew Duncan President of the Board of Trade. It is officially announced that Lord Beaverbrook will remain a member of the War Cabinet. Captain O. Lyttelton vacates the office of President of the Board of Trade on being appointed to special duties abroad. The appointment of Lord Beaverbrook as Minister of Supply brings to an end the special arrangement under which, as Minister of State, he acted as Deputy-Chairman of. the Defence Committee (supply) and as referee on priority questions. These questions will be handled within the organisation of the office of the Minister of Defence, or of the production executive., of which Mr Bevin will continue to be chairman. Sir A. Duncan will continue to be chairman of the import executive. In view of the setting up of a Ministry of War Transport, is is announced that Colonel J. J. Liewellin and Sir Arthur Salter have relinquished their appointments as, respectively. Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport and Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Shipping. They arc appointed joint Parliamentary Secretaries to the Ministry of War Transport.
