Store sheep: More than 3000 head were offered in this section, but the sale was not bright. Good wether lambs meld firm, but ewe lambs were cheaper. Best four to five-year ewes made 20s to 21s, five-year lines 10s Bd, m.a. lines, good 20s, poor 14s; forward wethers, 21s 6d to 225; two and fourtooth ewes. 24s 3d; good wether lambs, 16s 9d to 18s, second quality lines 14s 8d to 15s Bd, others from 13s lOd; ewe lambs, best 21s to 245, small 16s 6d to 19s 9d. Dairy cattle: The quality of the offering was well below that of the previous week, and prices dropped. Springing cows made £4 12s 6d to £7; springing heifers, £4 10s to £7 10s; cows in milk, £4 10s. Store cattle: A heavy entry of station cattle was offered and, though most lines sold, only forward-condition-ed lots brought competition. Fat and forward A.A. bullocks made £lO 5s to £ll 12s; lighter £9 Is to £9 11s 3d; three-year A.A. steers, £8 6s to £8 17s, smaller £7 18s; two-year steers, £6 4s to £6 16s; yearling steers, £4 2s 6d to £4 15s; -two-year heifers, £3 10s to £4 10s; A.A. heifers r.w.b., £4 12s 6d; yearling Jersey heifers, £2 10s to £4 ss; potter cows, £3 9s to £3 17s 6d. Fat cattle: The beef offered was very light, and generally not finished in quality. Prices were backward on those of last week. Light prime cows made £7 2s 6d, unfinished £5 2s 6d to £5 12s 6d; ex-dairy cows, £3 10s to £5 2s 6d; light heifers. £6 17s 6d to £7 12s 6d, others £4 17s 6d to £5 2s 6d; Jersey steers, £7 7s 6d to £9 7s 6d. Pigs: No change was shown in prices for pigs. Small weaners made 4s 6d. others 14s 6d; slips, 245; porkers, 31s 6d to 355.
