NO RELAXATION

IN BRITISH AIR OFFENSIVE

Another Successful Daylight Sweep NIGHT BOMBERS BLAST KIEL AND BREMEN OTHER FORMATIONS ATTACK BOULOGNE LONDON’, -111110 26. While Russian bombers are blasting’ Germany from the east, the R.A.F. is throwing its greatest offensive of the war against Western Germany and occupied France. British bombers and fighters made another offensive sweep today over the Channel and Northern France. Again the German Air Force suffered heavily, nine Messerschmitts falling victims to the guns of our fighters. Three British planes are missing. Last night, for the fifteenth night in succession, the R.A.F. continued its assault on Western Germany and battled its way through a very severe electrical storm to bomb objectives at the naval base of Kiel and at Bremen. The lightning was described by one pilot as the worst he had known. When the planes turned for home, smoke could be seen rising to a great height from the Kiel shipyards. The docks at Boulogne were attacked by Fleet Air Arm and Coastal Command aircraft. Enemy activity over Britain was again on a small scale, compared with the British operations. Two enemy bombers were shot down. Up to a late hour this evening there was no report of any enemy activity over Britain today.
