LADIES’ GOLF CHALLENGE CUp CONTEST. <"Thnes-Age” Special.) The lady members of the local Golf Club played for the Challenge Cup yesterday afternoon on the Gum Grove links. Mrs Connell scored 3 points, Mrs Batchelor 2 points, and Mrs Pope 1 point. in the teams match, Captain v. Secretary, the Captain’s team won. During afternoon tea Mrs Roy Donald (secretary) made a presentation to Mrs Davis in appreciation of her services as captain for the past three or four years, and’ spoke of the regret they all felt that Mrs Davis was leaving the district. Mrs Davis suitably replied. Mrs Davis and Mrs Donald each donated a ball for the best medal cards, these being won by Mrs Connell and Mrs Gold.
Euchre Party. There was a fair attendance at the Fire Brigade’s euchre party on Tuesday night. The winners were:—Ladies: Mrs Sim, 1; Mrs Worsley, 2. Men: Mrs Watson, 1; Mrs Lowell, 2. Consolation: Mrs O'Neale and Mr McGuinness. Aggregate:-—Ladies: Mrs Tait, 1; Mrs L. Rasmussen, 2. Men: Mr J. Anderson, 1; Mr Cameron, 2.
