ANOTHER HESS STORY
ANGLO-GERMAN ALLIANCE SOUGHT. AGAINST SOVIET RUSSIA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, June 24. Japanese officials in Shanghai, according to the Tokio correspondent of the "New York Times” say that they have’ definite proof that Hess went to Britain in an attempt to secure an alliance between Germany and Britain against Russia, but that the British refused the offer and accordingly warned Russia, who then moved up defensive troops. The German Ambassador in Japan, Herr Ott, is having long talks with Mr Matsuoka and is working hard to obtain Japan's help against Russia.
