NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to and in exercise of the powers conferred oil it by “The Counties Act. 1920.’’ and “The Rating .Act. 1925,” and of all other powers in that behalf enabling it, that the Masterton County Council intends, at an Ordinary Meeting of the said Council, to be held in the Council Chambers. Chapel Street. Masterton, on TUESDAY, the Bth day of July, 1941. at 2 p.m., to make and levy the following Rates for the year commenced on the Ist day of April. 1941. and ending on the 31st day cf March. 1942. GENERAL RATES. A CENTRAL RATE under Sections 120 and 121 of “The Counties' Act. 1920.” on the Capital Rateable Value of all rateable property appearing on the Valuation Roll of'the six respective Ridings of the Countv as follows:— IN THE OPAKI RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY (Id) in the Pound. IN THE RANGITUMAU RIDING, a General Rale of SEVEN-EIGHTHS OF ONE PENNY (Jd) in the Pound. IN THE UPPER TAUERU RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY AND FIVE-SIXTEENTHS OF ONE PENNY (1.5-16 d in the Pound. IN THE TE WHITI RIDING, a General Rate of SEVEN-EIGHTHS OF ONE PENNY (J-d) in the Pound. IN THE URITI RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY AND FIVE-SIX-TEENTHS OF ONE PENNY (1.5-16d> in the Pound. IN THE WAINUIORU RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY AND THREE-EIGHTHS OF ONE PENNY (lid) in the Pound. HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID RATE. A RATE under the provisions of Section 52 of “The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926.” of NINE THIRTY-SECONDS OF ONE PENNY (9-32 d in the Pound on the Capital Rateable Value of all rateable property in the County of Masterton, such Rate being required to meet the contributions payable by the Council to the Wairarapa Hospital Board. SEPARATE RATES. ALSO UNDER the provisions of “The Water Supply Act, 1908,” and amendments thereto, to make and levy separate Rates for the maintenance of Water Races within the respective Water Supply Districts as follows: — A SEPARATE RATE OF FIVEEIGHTHS OF ONE PENNY (jjd) in the Pound on the’ Capital Rateable Value of all rateable property within the UPPER PLAIN WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT, No. 1. A SEPARATE RATE OF ONE PENNY AND ONE-SIXTH OF ONE PENNY (1.1-6 d in the Pound on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable propertv within the OPAKI WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT. A SEPARATE RATE OF ONE PENNY (id) in the Pound on the Capital Rateable Value of all rateable propertv within the TE ORE ORE WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT. SPECIAL RATES. ALSO UNDER THE PROVISIONS cf "The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926,” to collect so much as is required of each of the annual recurring Special Rates levied on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable property within the several Special Rating Districts of the County of Masterton to provide the Annual Charges on the Loans raised in the said districts. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that all such Rates shall become payable in one sum at the County Office, Chapel Street, Masterton. on the 22nd day of July, 1941. Pursuant to a Resolution of the Masterton County Council, a rebate of five (5) per cent will be allowed off the GENERAL RATE if all rates made and levied for the year ended March 31. 1942, are paid on or before THURSDAY, the 7th day of August, 1941.
