MAURICEVILLE
RED CROSS SOCIETY PATRIOTIC ACTIVITIES. (“Times-Age” Special.) The members of Mauriceville SubCentre of the Red Cross' Society are continuing their patriotic activities and knitting wool has been freely distributed to be made up into comforts for the hospitals. Wool can still be obtained for this purpose on application to Mrs J. A. Baine. Members are asked to bring with them to the monthly meeting at the County Chambers on Thursday needles and white thread. Personal items. Mr and Mrs A. E. Spivey are at present staying at Mauriceville. Mr Spivey is relieving at the local railway station. Mr and Mrs Rudd have returned home after having been the guests of their daughter, Mrs I. Jackson. Home Guard. There will be a parade of the Home Guard N.C.O's. on Thursday evening. Collection of Metals. The headteacher at the Mauriceville East School (Mrs Childs) is arranging for the children in her charge to collect such metals, etc., as may be useful in connection with the war effort.
