EXCITEMENT IN SPAIN
FASCIST DEMONSTRATIONS DEFINITION OF POLICY. SOUGHT BY AMERICAN AMBASSADOR. (Received This Day, 12.15 p.m.) LONDON, June 24. Crowds of uniformed Spanish Fascists demonstrated before the German Embassy in Madrid, shouting: “On to Moscow!” “Gibraltar for Spain!” The British and American Embassies arc heavily guarded. The American Ambassador, Mr Weddell, is seeking an interview with General Franco to obtain a clarification of Spain’s position.
