Personal Items. Miss Dulcie Haigh, of Petone, was a visitor to Greytown at the weekend. Mr E. Greathead, of Wellington, was a weekend visitor. Mr A. Carter, of Wellington, was home lor the weekend. Mr and Mrs F. Westwood, Eastbourne, were the guests of Mr and Mrs E. Haigh. Main Street, at the weekend. Sergeant J. M. Jackson, of Dannevirke Military Camp, was home on leave at the weekend. Bible Class Entertained. The Methodist (Greytown) Bible Class entertained the Featherston Bible Class at tea in the Sunday School yesterday, the occasion being Youth Day. The Rev. L, A. D. Hayman was present and a very enjoyable time was spent. Hockey Notes. All three local teams had home games on Saturday. The Scouts put up a splendid performance to defeat a much bigger team and to keep their own goal line intact. A rearrangement of the personnel was in part responsible for the good showing, Gallon being quite effective at right wing. The half-back line went much better this week, Ross playing an improved game. The pick of the team for stick work and heady play generally were Trotman and Jury. Without these two Old Boys would almost certainly have won.

The Old Girls’ team against Greytown were obliged to play one short and this no doubt retarded their opportunities. .For all that, the Kia Kaha ladies had no difficulty in Scoring at will and after half-time rearranged their team considerably so as to give every player a run. The Old Girls played a very sporting game, and never gave in.

The Old Boys-Greytown game was a very fast and interesting contest. The local forward line pulled off some very strong movements, their passing being much better timed than last week. There was still a tendency to hit too far ahead at times. The two local fullbacks played better than last week also, but again failed io make their clearing shots in <he right direction. From time to time some misguided individuals abuse their privileges by causing damage at the Domain. An appeal is made to all players and supporters to assist in stopping aels ot vandalism.
