DOG TRIALS

MEETING AT ALFREDTON EXCELLENT STANDARD OF WORK, RESULTS OF VARIOUS EVENTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Alfredton Sheep Dog Trials I were concluded in most inclement weather. Nevertheless the work was of a very good standard, especially among the maiden dogs. Mr W. L. Udy, the president, thanked those who had assisted at the trials and especially the ladies who came each day to provide lunch and teas. Their support was most valuable and appreciated. He also thanked the owners of the ground and Mr W. Edmonds, of Te Hoe Station, for lending the sheep which were a good even line of wethers and provided a first class test for the competing dogs. The heading events were run in conjunction and points for the Shorthead event counted only from the first drive; possible points 34.
