ROYAL AIR FORCE ACTIVITIES IN CYRENAICA DESTRUCTION OF ENEMY PLANES & TRANSPORT. NUMEROUS FIRES STARTED AT BENGHAZI. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) RUGBY, June 15. A R.A.F. Middle East communique states: “In Cyrenaiea a force of bombers carried out heavy raids during the night of June 13'' bn the harbour of Benghazi and started numerous fires. Successful attacks also were made on landing grounds at Benina and Derna and continuous fighter patrols were maintained throughout the day. Fighters also participated in daylight attacks on the landing ground at Gazala, where two enemy aircraft were destroyed on the ground and a number of others severely damaged. Between Gazala and Capuzzo our aircraft ma-chine-gunned and destroyed nineteen enemy motor transport vehicles and damaged three enemy armoured fighting vehicles. "From all these operations, five of our aircraft are missing.”
