SATURDAY NIGHT KORERO AN EXCELLENT PROGRAMME. PATRIOTIC ACTIVITIES. A bright Kcrcro by the Masterton Savage Club on Saturday night, opening with the National Anthem and Opening Ode, was controlled by Savage A. Steele, who was installed in the chair by Big Chief F. L. Price. The orchestra (under Savage C. W. Kerry) played “Wings of Joy" and "Sons of the Sea." which were well received as were two enjoyable vocal numbers by Savage D. Couper. Savages Barber and Henry gave two very amusing sketches, "Afaking His Pile" and "A Miss is as Good as a Mile,” which were greatly appreciated. Further well received vocal items, this time by Savage C. Torr, were followed by the playing of popular airs by G. Bilderbeck (piano) and C. Malmo (mandolin), and an excellent pianoforte solo and an amusing anecdote by Savage C. W. Kerry. Past Chief V. S. Wilton introduced the visitors. During Buttery Hatch proceedings Savage Palamontain proposed the toast of the "Visitors,” Messrs Robertson and Cornick, and the latter replied. The second half opened with an effort on behalf of the Patriotic Fund. The largest amount for the year was raised. A play in two scenes. “Bunbury Cross,” was presented by Savages Bilderbeck. Carstens. Flemming. Henry. Kennedy. Pickering and Russell. The orchestra brought proceedings to a close with “Grand March Majesty." "Wings Over the Navy. The Closing Ode” and "The King." i
