HUME GOLF CUP DRAW FOR FINAL ROUND. (“Times-Age" Special.) The following is the draw for the final round of the William Hume Memorial Cup and for the first round of the Campbell Clip to be played on Saturday:—J. Riwai v. G. Sutherland; D. Tikao v. S. Hall; G. Hall v. AV. Charteris; J. Carter v. H. Matakane; M. Waiwera v. M. McLeod; F. Lovegrove v. T. Hume; D. Didsbury v. N. Hume; R. Lovegrove v. M. Herangi; S. Thomas v. H. Carter. The draw for the first round of the Rose Bowl is as follows: —Mrs Bragg v. Mrs Thomas; Mrs Stewart v. Mrs Herangi; Mrs Carter v. Mrs Tikao; Mrs Sutherland v. Mrs McKenzie.

The Campbell Cup competition (three best cards out of five) will commence on Saturday. The Rose Bowl is played by the ladies under the same conditions.

N. Hume should make a really fine golfer and his clubmates hope to see him emulate the deeds of his brother, Martin Hume, who was club champion, and is now serving overseas. The winning of the Hume Cup now lies betwkeen G. Sutherland, who has a lead of four points, J. Riwai and S. Thomas. The former, if on his game, should be hard to beat. Home Guard. The local Home Guard, under Commander E. C. Holmes, held an allday parade at the weekend. Field exercises, signalling and other military routine work were carried out. Captain Carter, of Greytown, briefly addressed the company. Personal Items. Mr E. Taurau has left for Mariaia to attend a Mormon parish conference which is to be held there at the weekend. • The death occurred recently in Wellington of Mr Atkinson, uncle of Mr J. H. Atkinson, Pirinoa. Mrs Simpson, Dannevirke, has returned home after a few days spent with relatives in this district.
