Mr Phillip Williams, Secretary to the United-States Embassy, flew to Recife to obtain first-hand testimony from survivors of the Robin Mocr. Captain Pereira, of the Osorio, who rescued eleven survivors, declares that the Robin Moor was torpedoed by a German submarine. NO MUNITIONS CARRIED THREE LIFEBOATS MISSING. WASHINGTON. June 11. The Maritime Commission said the Robin Moor (5000 tons) which was Stink by a U-boat, carried only general cargo and no munitions. The passenger list numbered 40. The vessel sank 700 miles south of Cape Verde. The crew and passengers transferred to four lifeboats and the Osorio rescued one 800 miles from the position of the sinking. The rescued members of the crew say the three other lifeboats carried 35 . persons, including three women and one child. The commander of the Brazilian ship Tamandare found pieces of baggage, including a suitcase and children’s toys.
