AIR MAIL SERVICE 4 CHEAPENED FOR AUSTRALIAN TROOPS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, June 10. The members of the A.I.F. in the Middle East will soon be enabled to communicate with home by air mail at a reduced charge of 3d. The Minister for the Army, Mr Spender, said today that the Post Office has agreed to proposals made by the A.I.F. under which special air mail letter-cards will be forwarded from the Middle East for 3d each, The cards will be supplied to the troops free. The service will begin within a few weeks, after cards have been printed and distributed.
