REGENT THEATRE
“REMEMBER THE NIGHT.” A saucy story of a district attorney who falls in love with a girl he is trying to send to prison, from an original story by Preston Sturges, is presented in “Remember the Night,” Paramount’s latest contribution to gaiety. The picture will be shown tonight. The role of district attorney is played by Fred Mac Murray, recently in the comedy success, “Honeymoon in Bali,” while the lovely felon portraying the girl who steals his heart is Barbara Stanwyck, whose most recent screen success is "Golden Boy.” Beulah Bondi, Elizabeth Patterson and Sterling Holloway round out the big supporting cast. One of the features of "Remember the Night” is a swing rendition of the perennially popular “Back Home in Indiana.’ Splendid featurettes include the latest Air Mail News, featuring the Balkan campaign, a Ted Husing Sportlight and a stone-age cartoon. The plans are at the shop of Messrs Steele and Bull and the theatre. “NICE GIRL.” The glorious triumph of song, romance and exquisite light coniedj. featuring Deanna Durbin, will commence on Friday. A glorious cast supports the adorable little stai, including Robert Benchley, Franchot Tone, Walter Brennan and the whole provides one of the most satisfying entertainments the screen has known. All records tumbled before its all-con-quering charm at the State Theatre, Sydney, and now .Wellington is revelling in its exquisite beauty.
