DRUIDS’ LODGE

HALF-YEARLY MEETING HELD LAST NIGHT. AGREEMENT WITH DOCTORS TO CONTINUE. The half-yearly meeting of the Stonehenge Lodge of Druids was held last night, the Acting A.D.. Bro. A. W. Hearle, presiding over a good attendance of members. The district president, Bro A. J. Dew, and the A.D. and a number of officers and members of Totara Lodge. Carterton, were visitors, j The district president installed the | various officers in their respective chairs for the ensuing term and was congratulated on the able manner in which he carried out his duties. The officers installed were: J.P.A., Bro C. N. Cole; A.D., Bro A. D. Swinn. P.A.; V.A., Bro C. A. Pickering, P.A.; secretary, Bro H. A. R. Dunderdale, P.S.; treasurer, Bro W. R. Pawson, P.A.; 1.G., Bro L. H. Spademan: 0.G.. Bro A. W. Hearle. P.A.; A.D.B’s, Bros A. W. Pike. P.A.. A W. Russell. P.A.; V.A.B’s, Bros F. Hartmann.; P.D,P. and K. E. Welch; musician. Bro C F Mills; M.C.. Bro T. W. Pickett. P.A. Very satisfactory reports were received from P.A. Bro Pawson on the successful results which had been obtained recently by the dance committee. It was unanimously resolved that dances be held fortnightly in future instead of monthly. The thanks of the lodge were expressed to the committee for its enthusiasm and good work.

The delegates to the U.F.S. Council reported on the meeting which had been held to consider any proposed amendments to the existing medical agreement and the lodge unanimously decided to continue with the existing arrangement with the local doctors, without any alteration.

It was reported that presentations had been made to two further members who had left for active service and the action of the secretary and officers concerned in making the arrangements was approved. P.A. diplomas wore presented to Bros A. G. Swinn and A. W. Hearle by D.P. Bro A. ,1. Dow, on behalf -of the lodge.

Sick pay and accounts amounting to £l3 14s l()il were passed.
