PLUNKET SOCIETY MEETING OF LOCAL BRANCH. (“Times-Age” Special.) n . The bi-monthly meeting of the Greys( town Plunket Society was held in the 3r Plunket Room when Mrs Maddison V (president) occupied the chair. There j were also present Mesdames Kiernan. Gregor, Richards, Bull. Alexander and j S Bunny. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Wiggins and •j. Bayliss. ) As a mark of respect members stood gf in silence for a few moments for those ’(■] who had suffered bereavement rccent>r iy. Mrs Stevens wrote tendering her refj signation as a member as she was leavy ing the district. The Nurse’s report for ; . April was as follows: New cases, mothr. crs 5, babies 5; visits to homes, mothers 43. babies 41; older children 8. The j general health of the babies and their ._ progress were satisfactory. d '■ St. Luke’s Church. There was a large congregation at St. 1 Luke’s. Greytown, on Sunday evening when the Bishop of Wellington was " the preacher. The new communion table was consecrated. After the service supper was served in the Sunday " School, and the Bishop expressed his 3 pleasure at again meeting his many friends'in the parish.
Personal Items. 1 The death occurred at the Greytown ‘ Hospital, on Saturday of Mr Robert Willoughbj' Price, a well known resident of Martinborough. The late Mr ' Price was 67 years of age. He was al ’ member of the N.Z.E.F. in the Great War, and served in the Machine-gun | ; Corps for over three years. The funeral took place at Greytown yesterday and members of the local Returned Soldiers’ Association acted as pallbearers. Mrs H. Farley is at present spending a holiday at Seatoun. Mrs Ridgley is going to Tawa Flat to spend some weeks with her daughter. Mrs Gray. Golf Match. The Greytown Golf Club played its annual match against the local club at Rototawai on Sunday. The following 1 were the results, Greytown jffayers , being mentioned first in each case: — B. Kiernan and J. C. Feast lost to D. C. Collins and B. Feast, 5/4; H. W. 1 Feast and E. Maddisen lost to D. Ste- ] wart and A. B. Martin, 3/2; E. Williams ; and G. Burns lost to Messrs Elbe and •' Juno; G. Te Whaiti and A. G. Peter- ; son lost to Barton and Griffiths, 5 ‘ down. In the ladies’ games Mrs Thompson 1 and Miss Nix and Mesdames Martin and Collins were all square; Miss B. Feast and Mrs T. Gold lost to Miss J. Collins and Mrs Pope, 1 down; Mes- t dames Maddison and Mead and 1 Mos- ? dames Feast and K. Bargh wore all square; Mesdames Jury and Warren \ and Miss E. Collins and Mrs Elbe were S all square. Property Changes Hands. “ Mi - R. C. Yates, of Ruawhata. has disposed of his property comprising some 109 acres, the purchaser being Mr Billington, of Greytown. q
