ORDER OUT OF CHAOS
MAN PAYING FOR WRONGDOING. The chaos of the times, says the “Church Times," is directly due to man's own sin and purblindness. Our generation is paying both for its own wrongdoing and for the wrongdoing of the generations that preceded it. “The fathers have eaten souNgrapes and the children's teeth are set on edge." The nations have fallen away from the Rule of Life that was divinely intended for them. And the individual has shut his eyes to the lessons of revelation and of human experience. And now “the sins that we do by two and two must be paid for one by one.” There, should he no surprise (hat the divine judgment should have fallen on the world and no resentment. Rather should there be the prayer that, bruisl- - by bcncticicnt justice, mankind may be braced to saner and more persistent effort to live, both individually and as members of a community, in the spirit of tlie teaching of Christ, so that the day may be hastened when His will is done on earth even as it is done in heaven.
