SCOTS COLLEGE
SILVER JUBILEE YEAR. Having been founded during the lastwar. Scots College. Wellington, this year attains its Silver Jubilee, and to celebrate this occasion, special events in keeping with the present situation will be held, concluding on Sunday. June 15. at 3 p.rn., with a special thanksgiving service at- St John's Church, Wellington, when the address will be given by the Moderator of the Presbyterian General Assembly, the Rt Rev G. H. Jupp. Twentyfive years ago, the late Dr James Gibb, with the support of the Presbyterians of Wellington, founded the college and the college buildings, at Seatoun, now stand as a monument to their foresight. To commemorate the Silver Jubilee, a committee has been set up to raise funds for an Assembly Hall and the old boys of the college have requested that the hall should also be a memorial for the old boys who have made the supreme sacrifice in this war. When erected, the hall will be known as the ■‘Hall of Memories." The headmaster, Lieutenant-Colonel Glasgow, is serving with the overseas forces and other masters and many old boys are also overseas with all branches of the fighting services.
