GOLF DRAW FOR SATURDAY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following is the draw fur a fourball bogey to be played on the Ti/atahi links on Saturday:— From No. 1 tee: A. Pankhurst and Broadment v. (/lark and W. Knowles; Whitburn and Colson v. Harrington and Jackson; Johansen and Callender v. Smart and Hill. From No. 3 tee: Larsen and Dwane v. Barrett and Fisher; Tankersley and Goodin v. Moroney and Booth; Taylor and Lawrence v. Hughes and Gustofsen. From No. 17 tee: Taverner and Knutson v. Roydhouse and Court; Riggs and Beaven v. Hart and G. Pankhurst; Brown and M. Knowles v. Nicholls and Harry; Forbes and Dudson v. Steel and Nix. PARCEL EVENING MR C. A. KNUTSON ENTERTAINED. The Dalefield Hall was filled to capacity last evening when a parcel evening was tendered to Mr C. A. Knutson who was married recently. The music for dancing was played by Mrs Ashton's Orchestra and much appreciated extras were played by Mrs Hughes and Mr Hooper on his pianoaccordion. Mr Ashton capably carried out the duties of M.C. During the evening Mr Sid Galion, on behalf of the Dalefield hockey players presented the guest of honour with a clock. Mr Press on behalf of the residents of the district called upon Mr and Mrs Knutson to open the fine array of presents which they did amid applause, thus displaying many beautiful gifts. Mr Moore, secretary of the Wairarapa Hockey Association, had great pleasure in presenting to the Dalefield A team the cup and badges won last Monday at the six-a-side hockey tournament held in Masterton. The lucky spot waltz was won by Mr McKenzie and partner. Supper was. served by ladies '<tf ihe district. LADIES’ GOLF DRAW FOR SATURDAY'S GAMES. The following is the draw for a flag competition and L.G.U. medal round to be played on the Taratahi links on Saturday by lady members of the Carterton Golf Club (all players must start from the one tee):—Mrs Callender v. Miss Berrill; Miss Campbell v. Mrs Harrington; Mrs Maroney v. Mrs Colson; Mrs Candy v. Mrs Murray; Mrs Orr v. Mrs Robinson; Mrs Johansen v. Miss I. Corlett; Miss Smart v. Mrs Forbes; Miss B. Freer v. Miss Armstrong; Miss Lamb v. Miss Peters; Mrs Court v. Mrs Nix; Miss Lawrence v. Mrs Knowles; Miss Hamer v. Mrs Hasty; Miss V. Corlett v. Miss Johnson; Misses Lindop, Z. Freer and A. Hurley; Mrs Martin v. Miss P. Bredin. Misses Armstrong and B. Freer will be in charge of lhe afternoon tea arrangements. Social at Clarevilie. Clareville and district residents will tender an evening to Privates A. McKenzie and O. Daysh in the Clareville Hall tonight. Cards will be provided for those wishing to play and a dance will also be held. Presentations will be. made to both guests of the evening. A large attendance is expected. Card Evening. The weekly card evening held by the Boy Scout Citizens' Committee in the Bandroom. Carterton, last evening, was largely attended. The - prize-winners were:—Mrs C. Holland. 1; Mrs Pawhai, 2. Men's prizes, Mr Edwards, 1; Mrs O'Halloran, 2. Personal. Mrs J. B. Brickeli, Kent Street, Carterton, has received word that her son. Burnett Brickeli. has arrived '.-afoly in Egypt from Greece. Social to Soldiers. Tomorrow night the King's Theatre. Carterton, should be packed to capacity when a number of Carterton and district soldiers will be tendered a social evening. Quite a number of soldiers will bo present on this occasion and Sister Una Goodin will be among those being feted. Residents of Carterton and adjoining districts are expected to turn out in large numbers to take part in the gathering. The music will be supplied by Mrs V. J. Ashton's orchestra. The prices of admission are advertised. Soldiers in battledress will be admitted free.
