NAZI ALLEGATIONS
ATROCITY CHARGES MADE AGAINST CRETANS. LONDON, June 3. The Berlin radio is whipping up stories of alleged Cretain atrocities against German soldiers. It is claimed that the bodies of 12 persons were found in the harbour at Candia with the eyes gouged out. Ten Cretan women were arrested for murdering parachutists, some of whom are said to have been crucified. Female bandits, the radio declared, put on the uniforms of dead German soldiers and ambushed and killed a number of Germans.
