DINNER FOR SOLDIERS
GATHERING AT MIDLAND HOTEL. Members of the 'Sixth Reinforcements on leave in the district were entertained at dinner at the Midland Hotel, Masterton. last night. The president of the Wairarapa Returned Soldiers’ Association. Mr H. J. Brass, presided in the unavoidable absence of the Mayor, Mr T. Jordan. Apologies for absence were received from Mr J. Robertson, M.P. (owing to Parliamentary duties) and Mr R. E. Gordon Lee. chairman of the Masterton County Council. Chairfain to the Forces, the Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich, pronounced Grace. The loyal toast was proposed by the chairman. Councillor W. Kemp proposed the toast to His Majesty’s Forces, which was responded to by Major A. W. Reynolds, O.C. Troops. Included among the guests were Majca' A. W. Reynolds, Sergeants C. J. Denny, T. C. H. Miller, L. Roache, R. Clnrke. E. A. Bowcock, R. O’Callaghan; G miners H. M. A. Major, J. A. Edwards, J. L.
