HOTEL LICENSES
WAIRARAPA COMMITTEE. MEETING AT CARTERTON TODAY. (“Times-Age'’ Special./ The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Licensing Committee was held at Carterton today. There were present Messrs H. P. Lawry (chairman). S. Purvis, W. C. Sorensen, F. W. Smith. F. W. Wood. The following applications for licenses were granted:—William Harold Steel, Royal Oak Hotel, Carterton; Guert Thomassen, Taueru Hotel; Ernest James Lane, Martinborough (subject to fire escapes being put in order); George Maxwell Jenkinson, Tinui Hotel; John Rowlands, Grey town Hotel; L. J. Reed, Marine Hotel. Whakataki. Renewals of licenses were granted as follows:—Marquis of Normanby (Carterton). Morison’s Bush (Greytown); Club Hotel (Greytown) (adjourned for a month to enable improvements to be effected); Gladstone Hotel; Club Hotel, Carterton; Club Hotel, Martinborough (subject to lire escapes being put in order; Foresters’ Arms (Greytown); Empire Hotel (Featherston); Provincial Hotel (Upper, Hutt); Carswell’s Hotel (Blairlogie); Trentham Hotel, Roya] Hotel (Featherston); Taratahi Hotel; Tauherenikau I Hotel. i
A renewal of an accommodation license was granted to the following:— Lake Ferry Hotel, and a renewal of a wholesale license to the W.F.C.A., Greytown. Applications for transfers were granted as follows: —Thomas Patrick Hampson (Tinui) to G. M. Jenkinson; Dorothy Jessie Campbell (Greytown) to John Rowlands: H. Fahey (Royal Oak. Carterton. to William Harold Steel.
