REGENT THEATRE
“DR. CYCLOPS.” Tables fifteen feet high, a chair large enough to accommodate an elephant in comfort, a pair of scissors four feet long, an inkwell in which a man could take a bath —these are only a few oi the massive, amazing props to be seen in “Dr. Cyclops,” Paramount's fantasy thriller, which will be presented tonight at the. Regent Theatre. These strange objects were required by the even stranger story, which tells of a scientist who invents a radium ray machine to “shrink” human beings to capsule creatures one-fifth their normal size! Filmed in technicolour, “Dr. Cyclops” recounts terrible experiences in a world suddenly grown gigantic in proportion. . Its cast is headed by Albert Dekker (in the title role), Janice Logan and Thomas Coley. It is a brilliantly acted and outstanding picture, which.will hold the audience from start to finish. The supporting subjects include a Sportlight number, “The Sporting Irish,” a Paramount headliner’, a Popeye cartoon,, and the latest Air Mail News, giving thrilling shots of an air raid on Norway, and the preparations at the mighty Singapore base. Plans are at Messrs Steele and Bull’s shop and the theatre.
