LANGDALE

SETTLERS GATHERING SECOND LIEUTENANT W. STREET HONOURED. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large and representative attendance at the Langdale Hall last night when settlers of the district gathered to honour Second Lieutenant W. Street. Music for the dancing- was supplied by Mr Percy (Masterton) and extras were played by Mr S. O'Hara (piano accordian). The duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr C. J. Lancaster. Mr C. J. Hay. on behalf of friends of Second Lieutenant Street, presented him with a wallet and a cheque. Mr James Andrew, on behalf of the local patriotic committee presented the guest of honour with a wristlet watch.
