REGENT THEATRE
“ESCAPE.” The final screening of this great dramatic triumph takes place this evening. Norma Shearer heads a great cast. “DR. CYCLOPS.” Tables fifteen feet high, a chair large enough to accommodate an elephant in comfort, a pair of scissors four feet long, an inkwell in which a man could take a bath —these are only a few ol the massive, amazing props to be seen in “Dr. Cyclops,” Paramount’s fantasy thriller, which will open tomorrow at the Regent Theatre. These strange objects were required by the even stranger, story, which tells of a scientist who invents a radium ray machine to “shrink” human beings to capsule creatures one-fifth their normal size! Filmed in technicolour, “Dr. Cyclops" recounts terrible experiences in a world suddenly grown gigantic in proportion. Its cast is headed by Albert Dekker (in the title role), Janice Logan and Thomas Coley. The supporting subjects include a Sportlight number, “The Sporting Irish,” a Paramount headliner, a Popeye cartoon, and the latest Air Mail News, giving thrilling shots of an air raid on Norway, and the preparations at the mighty Singapore base.
