EKETAHUNA

BOROUGH AFFAIRS KEEN PRIDE IN TOWN. ("Times-Age" Special.) The new borough council is determined. despite the war. to continue its I policy of conducting the affairs of the borough in a manner that will keep the town to the forefront as one of the most up-to-date municipal areas in the Dominion. The general appearance of. the town, the well kept streets and the fine residences make Eketahuna an outstanding town. The mayor is keen to do his best and fully recognises the responsibilities placed upon his shoulders as Hie first citizen of the townresponsibilities which are equally shared by the councillors. In the Town Clerk the borough has an official of outstanding ability who takes a keen pride in the borough and in his work. Eketahuna is fortunate to possess such an excellent official. With a particularly capable mayor and councillors devoted to their duties there should be years of progress ahead of Eketahuna. SHOP IN EKETAHUNA BUSINESS BUILT UP ON SOUND LINES. Residents to the north and south of Eketahuna are. in increasing numbers, making Eketahuna their shopping center. It is an established fact that Eketahuna shops are fully stocked with fresh goods which are in demand. Everything that is required by the householder can be obtained in Eketahuna at prices which compare most favourably with those in bigger centres. The slogan. “Shop in Eketahuna." is one which means that shoppers can obtain up-to-date goods at reasonable prices with every, consideration being shown by business firms for their convenience, and the smallest wish given close attention. Eketahuna has built its business facilities on honest lines, and an ever-increasing number of district householders are recognising this and are now doing their shopping in Eketahuna. Personal. Mr S. E. Trim, formerly of the Eketahuna branch of the W.F.C.A., has has taken up duties at the Pahiatua branch as manager of the grocery department.
