OBITUARY
MR ERNEST JAMES EASTWOOD. The death occurred on Saturday evening of Mr Ernest James Eastwood, Victoria Street, Masterton, at the age of 01 years. The late Mr Eastwood, had lived in Masterton for the past ihii 15 - one years, during which time he was associated with the motor business, for many years with Messrs Thomas Wagg and Co., Ltd. In his younger days he won sepute as a track cyclist, and throughout his lue his keen interest in athletics was maintained. He had for many years been an official of the Masterton Amateur Athletic Club. He received his secondary education at Wellington College. Mr Eastwood is survived by a widow, three sons. Messrs Keith (Masterton', Peter (Wellington) and James ,Eastwood (Masterton >. and three daughters, Mrs H. C. Keen, and the Misses Ruth and Maureen Eastwood (all of Masterton). and ten grandchildren. The funeral took place this morning after Requiem Mass had been celebrated by the Rev. Father Moore in Saint Patrick’s Church. Messrs F. Corry. R. Riley, G. Wagg and the three sons acted as pall-bearers. Wreaths were sent by Messrs T. Wagg and Co., the Mastertoil Amateur Adhletic Club, besides many others.
