YOUNG FARMERS
INTERFIL’D JUDGING CONTEST t GATHERING AT CARTERTON SHOWGROUND. SECONDARY SCHOOL PUPILS PRESENT. The annual contest, for the Point Blank Cup was held yesterday al the Carterton Showgrounds, when members of district Young Farmers’ clubs participated in the inter-club judging competition. In view of present conditions the attendance was most satisfactory and it was extremely gratifying to see a large number of secondary school pupils present. Five clubs were represented—AL fredton. Masterton, Carterton, Greytown and Featherston —and most of them had both senior and junior teams. A special class, also included this year for school boys, was well supported.
Acknowledgment was made of the assistance given bv the following farmers who provided stock: Pigs, Messrs F,. T. Bliss. 11. Rayner and the Parkvale Pig Club; Southdowns, Mr A. Keats; Romneys. Sir William Perry; Friesians. Mr Martin Parker; and to the judges, who wore: Breeding sows Mr A. A. Johnson; S°ulhdowns. Mr A. Kcals: Romneys. Mr J. G. Donald: F'-msiqns. Mr K. Fairbrother.
Demonstrations were given by the respective judges.
