R.S.A. JUBILEE
PRESENTATION TO FOUNDERS. FINE RECORD OF SERVICE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. The annual conference of the R.S.A. marks its silver jubilee and the two founders, Messrs James Harper and Claude Batten, were today presented with console radio sets, suitably marked with the silver R.S.A. badge. The presentation was financed by branches throughout New Zealand and was made on their behalf by the Dominion President (Mr Perry). The presidents of the metropolitan centres and Mr Menzies, Napier, on behalf of the smaller associations, all referred to the great services given to the association by those two men. Mr Harper had been treasurer throughout the existence of the association, i as well as giving service on the Pensions Board. Mr Batten was the first General Secretary, the executive member responsible for the New Zealand R.S.A. '•Review” and a member of the Repatriation Committee.
