JAPANESE TRADE DEMAND I ADDRESSED TO BRITAIN. MR MATSUOKA INSISTENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 1.15 p.m.) TOKIO, May 29. The Foreign Minister, Mr Matsuoka, in an interview with Sir Robert Craigie, is believed to have demanded that the Netherlands East Indies make trade terms witn Japan immediately, states the Associated Press of America. The British envoy was consulted because the Netherlands Government is now in London. The newspaper “Asahi" says Japan has demanded that .Britain refrain from putting obstacles in the way of a parley between the Netherlands and Japan.
