The Admiralty has described the closing stages in the destruct ion of tlie German battleship Bismarck. Shortly after 9 o’clock the KingGeorge V and the Rodney silenced the Bismarck s gnus and the Dorsetshire sank her with torpedoes. Over 100 officers and men were picked tip by British ships. On the day after the engagment. some of the British naval forces were heavily attacked by German aircraft. During this attack a destroyer of the Tribal class was hit and subsequently sank. Ono officer and 45 ratings are missing.
