CALEDONIAN INGLESIDE
GATHERING IN MASONIC HALL LAST NIGHT. AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS. The Wairarapa Caledonian Society’s first Ingleside of the season was held in the Masonic Hall, Masterton, last night. The gathering was up to the usual high standard associated with the society's inglesides and members and their friends thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The music was supplied by Jack Barnes’s orchestra and the duties of M'.’sC. were capably carried out by Messrs H. E. Either and J. J. Hunter. The floor was in good order. The Wairarapa College Pipe Band played a selection for which they received well deserved applause. Members of the band also played for the eighth-some reels. With traditional ceremony the haggis was piped around the hall, following which Mr T. Arcus, the society’s patron said grace. An excellent savoury supper was served. The singing of "Auld Lang Syne" and the National Anthem brought the gathering to a close. The directors of the society and all who worked for the success of the ingleside are to be congratulated on their effort.
