Miss A. M. Sargent, of Makomako, is visiting Wellington. Miss Houston has returned to Pahiatua from a holiday spent in Gisborne. Mrs J. H. Handyside left Masterton this week to reside at Eketahuna. Mrs Ij. Cross, of Church Street, Masterton, has returned home from a visit to Wellington. Mrs E. Hornblow, who has been visiting Masterton for some time, left today on her return to Wellington. Mrs L. Bullock, of Makino, was a recent visitor to her parents, Mr and Mrs Clemas, of Masterton. An old and highly-esteemed resident cf Wellington, Mrs Mabel Agnes Goldie, died this week after a long illness. The daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Ryder, Mrs Goldie was born in Birmingham. England, and came to New Zealand at a very early age with her parents. She was for many years one of Wellington's foremost tennis players, being manager and captain of the first women’s team to go to Australia, playing in Sydney and Melbourne. She was also a Wellington representative, being a member of the Wellington and Brougham Hill clubs, and played a great deal of provincial tennis.
