MASTERTON CHAIRMAN’S SURVEY. v — FELLOW-MEMBERS THANKED FOR CO-OPERATION. At the statutory meeting of the Masterton County Council the chairman (Mr •R. E. Gordon Lee) expressed thanks i to councillors for their confidence in [him in re-electing him as chairman for a further term. Mr Lee congratulaI ted members on being returned unI opposed for a further term. Councillor Armstrong had served continuously for 25 years and Councillors G. Moore and IT. H. Mawley for 21 and 20 years respectively. As a council, all had done their best in the interests of ratepayers. Mr Lee thanked councillors for their co-operation and acknowledged their past assistance and thanked the County Clerk. Mr J. C. D. Maekley. for his efficient service. He urged prudence in future expenditure and emphasised the part farmers and local body representatives could play in the; war effort.
