WAIRARAPA PATRIOTIC ASSOCIATION RECEIPTS AND PAYMENTS. TWENTY-FIRST ANNUAL REPORT. The twenty-first annual report of the Claims Board of the Wairarapa Patriotic Association for the year ended March 31, 1941, states: — “The total receipts from all sources, from the inception of the fund in 1915, down to March 31, 1941, amount to £229,723 5s lOd, and the total payments to £207,760 18s lid, leaving a net balance of funds in hand at this date of £21,962 6s lid, a decrease of £959 5s 2d on the previous year. The total cost of administration over 26 years is £10,401 6s Bd, or 4.5 per cent of the total contributions, or 2.3 per cent of the total receipts plus total payments aggregating £437,483. Leaving outstanding 9,441 12. 7 "Loans converted to grants during the year amount to £62 13s. Altogether the sum of £2,913 15s lOd has been written off through the operations of the Adjustment Court, with the irrecoverable loss of that sum to the Association. Income for the year was £615 4s, of which £555 4s was from interest. Expenditure for the year was £773 13s sd. exceeding income by £l5B 9s sd, and depleting the funds by that amount. ADVANCES TO SOLDIERS. "Outstanding advances to soldiers' are classified as follows: —First Mortgages (12), £2.835 Is 3d; Second Mortgages (21), £3,065 8s Id; Third Mortgages (4), £BO6 14s 3d; Guarantees (2), £468 0s 3d; Chattels Securities (5), £902 19s 6d; Agreements to Repay (4), £156 13s 8d; Sundry (5), £793 7s 9d; Unsecured Loans (9), £413 7s lOd; total (62), £9,441 12s 7d. “During the year the board sat on twenty-two occasions, the following business transactions receiving the Board’s attention: — Applications for loans, 6; applications for temporary relief, 61; reconsideration of cases, 135; sundry other matters, 45; total, 247. The board extends its thanks to the branch committees for services rendered in supplying reports on various cases, and to all kindred societies for like services.”
