MASTERTON CLUB MEETING. The weekly meeting of the Masterton Esperanto Club was held last evening, Mr W. J. Beresford presiding over a satisfactory attendance of members. The president said that magazines recently received from abroad disclosed that Esperanto had made good progress in Brazil, where postage-stamps with text in the international language had been issued. The first Brazilian congress of Spiritualist Journalists and Authors had approved the use of Esperanto; the third Brazilian congress of Theosophists had decided to publish articles about theosophy in Esperanto, and the 12th International Exhibition at Rio do Janeiro had published an illustrated catalogue with text in various tongues including Esperanto. It was decided to cancel next week's meeting on account of the King's Birthday holiday. An interesting dialogue entitled “Sinjorino Acetas" (A Lady makes a Purchase) was ably presented in Esperanto by Mrs N. Lamont and Mr E. J. Eslcr. The final session of the meeting was devoted Io the reading aloud and translating of an article from “La Interna Idco," the New Zealand Esperanto gazette, much useful work being accomplished in this direction.
